Welcome to the Stranraer Millennium Centre’s exciting new pilot programme – an initiative designed to empower families, address inequality and promote affordable, healthy eating in Stranraer its surrounding areas and across Dumfries and Galloway. This innovative project not only equips families with practical cooking skills but also strengthens community ties, creating lasting, positive change.

Empower Your Family in the Kitchen
Discover how to prepare wholesome meals for four without breaking the bank. Under the expert guidance of a seasoned chef, you and your loved ones will learn to create delicious, budget-friendly dishes that can be easily recreated at home.
All-Inclusive, Hands-On Sessions
- Expert-Led Cooking Classes: Prep alongside our experienced instructor in a supportive, interactive setting.
- Comprehensive Ingredient Kits: All necessary ingredients and materials are provided, along with smart tips for budget shopping including the receipt to show you where it was bought (locally) and how much it should be.
- Taster Experience: Sample the dishes that are created on our program and then take home ingredients to replicate the meal.
- Supportive Resources: Receive recipe cards and additional resources to boost your confidence in cooking healthy meals.

- For All Families: Open to families across Dumfries and Galloway.
- Accessible Participation: For those outside Stranraer, we offer remote participation options, including transport solutions or locally based sessions in your town or village.

This program will be run for 6 blocks, each block runs for 5 weeks, learning a new recipe every week, each block will have new particpiants: our first 2 blocks start on Wednesday 5th of March and Friday 7th March
