Job Title: Events Coordinator

Role Overview:
We are looking for a creative and organised Events Coordinator to plan, deliver, and promote a wide range of events and activities at our Centre. From community programmes such as car boot sales and free school events to weddings, celebrations, and large commercial events, this role will position the Centre as a versatile venue that caters to a variety of audiences. The successful candidate will drive footfall, support community engagement, and elevate the Centre’s profile as a hub for both practical and luxurious events.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Delivery
- Plan and execute a diverse programme of events, including weddings, community celebrations, cultural activities, and more. Working with preferred partners, promoters and our community.
- Showcase the Centre’s versatility by transforming spaces with innovative décor, lighting, and creative event setups and promoting these setups.
- Introduce unique and exciting events to the area, providing the local community and visitors with new experiences.
- Ensure events cater to a wide range of audiences, from multi-generational community programmes to high-end private celebrations.
- Weddings and Special Events
- Promote the Centre as a premier venue for weddings and special celebrations.
- Highlight the Centre’s ability to transform from practical to luxurious with décor, lighting, and tailored event setups.
- Collect and use wedding and event feedback, attendee experiences, and professional photos to showcase the Centre’s potential for hosting special occasions and larger events.
- Drive bookings by demonstrating the Centre’s capability to meet diverse event needs, enhancing its reputation locally and regionally.
- Community Engagement, speak with and survey our community to keep ahead of its requirements and trends.
- Provide platforms for local talent and businesses to collaborate and participate in events.
- Encourage event attendees to explore the Centre’s other offerings, such as exercise classes, workshops, and regular activities.
- Engage with community feedback to continuously improve the event programme and align with local interests.
- Venue Promotion & Profile Building
- Develop and maintain a calendar of regular events to establish the Centre as a destination venue.
- Increase the Centre’s profile within the local and regional community through targeted promotion of successful weddings and events.
Operational Management
- Coordinate logistics for events, including décor, catering, entertainment, and equipment setup, also in working with partners and acts.
- Manage event budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness while delivering high-quality experiences.
- Monitor the success of events through feedback and evaluation, providing actionable recommendations for future improvements.
Partnership Development
- Build strong relationships with local businesses, entertainers, and suppliers to enhance event offerings.
- Collaborate with photographers and vendors to create promotional materials for future bookings.
- Support local economic growth by increasing footfall and attracting visitors to the area through Centre events.
- You will be required, from time to time, to support the business with other tasks out with your role but not out with your capability.

In this role, It is expected for the events coordinator to plan, deliver and promote events that bring people into the Centre and show how flexible the space can be. This includes community activities, celebrations, weddings and larger events. The focus is on increasing footfall, encouraging repeat visits and building a strong local reputation.
Its expected that you will take ownership of some events from idea through to delivery. This means coming up with engaging ideas, organising the details, working with partners and suppliers, and making sure events run smoothly on the day. thinking creatively about room layouts and set-ups, showing how the Centre can move from practical community use to more polished and special occasions.
Promoting the Centre is a key part of your role. using feedback, photos and successful events to help attract future bookings, particularly for weddings and private hires. You should keep a clear and up-to-date events calendar so people see the Centre as a regular destination.
Its expected you will engage with the local community, listen to what people want and use that feedback to shape the events programme. You should involve local businesses, performers and suppliers where possible, helping to strengthen relationships and increase footfall.
From an operational point of view, you will manage event logistics such as décor, equipment, catering and entertainment, while working within agreed budgets of the centre and/or the client. Its also expected to produce clear, simple reports on events, including attendance, feedback, costs, income where relevant, and any issues or lessons learned. These reports should help us understand what worked well and what can be improved next time.
Finally, Its expected to be flexible and support the wider team when needed by helping with other reasonable tasks.
